A pop up nature play area, just south of the playground, will extend the hours of fun at the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens during the school holidays.

Head gardener Gillian Miller said the much-loved playground at the gardens included many features designed to encourage imaginative and unstructured play.
“The nature play area is something new for the kids to have fun, use their imagination and connect with their surroundings while they have extra free time over the holidays,” she said.
Parents, carers and children are urged to exercise caution near the creek following the recent rains, and stay clear of the playground and entire botanical gardens in the event of flooding.
