After studying at the APO Arts Academy, Harrington performed in the title role of Carrie won a Music Theatre Guild of Victoria award for best first performance in a featured role.
Since then she said opportunities have been hard to come by, which led her to establishing Underscore Productions.
“There wasn't a lot happening that I was right for or getting cast in,” she said.
“The idea with Underscore was being able to create performance opportunies and quality shows at a smaller venue.”
Underscore’s first production is Ordinary Days. It opens at Metanoia at The Mechanics Institute in Brunswick.
Ordinary Days follows four New Yorkers whose lives intersect as they search for fulfilment, happiness, love and a cab.
“It is a 75 minute show that is fully sung. It’s a strange concept but a beautiful show,” Harrington said.
