However, with the Hawks having been knocked out by the Western Bulldogs in a semi-final, Mitchell will instead spend grand final eve this Friday at the QEO as part of AFL Central Victoria’s free Footy Festival.
Mitchell is a four-time premiership player with the Hawks and veteran of 307 games.
Another player in the 300-club will also join in the festivities at the QEO.
Drew Petrie, who played 316 games and kicked 428 goals for North Melbourne, but hasn’t been offered a new contract next year, will also be part of the festival.
Mitchell and Petrie will join recently-retired 202-gamer for Carlton, Andrew Walker, at the festival, which will be held from 11am to 5pm.
The festival will feature family activities, a kids playground, markets, entertainment, panel, a celebrity AFL 9s game and more.
