POWERCOR will conduct urgent maintenance works on electricity infrastructure servicing Eaglehawk and surrounding areas on October 9.
About 2500 customers will be affected when power is shut off between 6am and 8am that day.
Public affairs lead Avi Tan said the works would secure power supply and safety of the network.
“The job will allow us to replace a number of cross arms on power poles at three different sites,’’ she said.
“The works will also help avoid the possibility of extended outages at another time.’’
Life support customers are advised to use contingency plans on the day of the planned interruption.
The affected surrounding areas will include Bridgewater, Eaglehawk, Inglewood, Kamarooka, Neilborough, Raywood, Rheola, Sebastian, Serpentine and Woodvale.
