BACK POCKET - Codie Price (Sandhurst): Consistently set up the Dragons from defence with superb foot skills. Best running defender in the BFNL.

FULL BACK - Dale Young (Golden Square): Another consistent season from the Dog's key defender. Rarely beaten in a one-on-one contest.

BACK POCKET - Glenn Daly (Ealehawk): The reliable Hawk had another consistent season. Constantly set up the Hawks with his precise kicking and good decision making.

HALF-BACK FLANK: Kallen Geary (Strathfieldsaye) - runner-up in the Michelsen Medal. Best known as a midfielder, but he did a spend a lot of time across half-back this season.

CENTRE HALF-BACK - Brenton Conforti (Eaglehawk): Further established himself as one of the premier key defenders in the competition with another great season. His inter-league performance was outstanding.

HALF-BACK FLANK - Brayden Dorrington (Golden Square): The Dogs' co-captain was rock solid across half-back. Provided plenty of rebound.

CENTRELINE - Joel Wharton (Sandhurst): Has transformed his game from classy goal sneak to elite midfielder. Brilliant season.

CENTRE - Kristan Height (Sh): Outstanding first season in the BFNL. Michelsen Medal winner who racks up possessions in the middle and kicks multiple goals when resting forward.

CENTRELINE - Tom Horne (Castlemaine): Under-rated by those outside of Castlemaine. He was named in the Magpies' top two best players 11 times in 18 games.

HALF-FORWARD FLANK - Ben Weightman (Kyneton): Not as brilliant as 2015, but he still kicked 42 goals in 15 games for the fifth-placed Tigers.

CENTRE HALF-FORWARD - Dylan Johnstone (Golden Square): Had a huge first season in the BFNL. Played at full-forward, centre half-forward and in the ruck. Kicked 79 goals to win the Ron Best Medal.

HALF-FORWARD FLANK - Tom Toma (GS):  35 goals as a midfield/forward and third-placing in the Michelsen Medal. Toma picks himself across half-forward.

FORWARD POCKET: Mitch Scholard (Kyneton): 74 goals in 19 games was a great effort by the Tiger forward. Kicked at least one goal in all but one game.

FULL-FORWARD - Matt Gretgrix (Eaglehawk): The G-train silenced those who thought he was getting too old by kicking 77 goals in the home and away season and another 13 in the finals. 

FORWARD POCKET: Nick Stagg (Sandhurst) - Change of role has worked for the Dragon favourite. Kicked 35 goals and setr up many more with his tackling pressure.

RUCK - Kieran Strachan (South Bendigo): One of the most improved players in the BFNL. His a purple-patch of form in the second half of the season.

RUCK-ROVER - Jack Geary (Golden Square): The Bulldogs' co-captain picks himself. Another brilliant season from the hard-running midfielder.

CENTRELINE - Adam Baird (Golden Square): Had his most consistent season at senior level. Match-winning midfielder who has kicked 29 goals. 

INTERCHANGE - Blair Holmes (Sandhurst): No better tackler in the competition. The Sandhurst skipper has played a major role in getting the Dragons to the grand final.

INTERCHANGE - Ben McPhee (Eaglehawk): The Hawks' premier midfielder was brilliant early in the year and had a strong second half of the season.

INTERCHANGE:  Shannon Geary (Strathfieldsaye): Geary relished his role across half-forward. He 31 goals and was eight times in the Storm's top three best players.

INTERCHANGE - Trent Donnan (Strathfieldsaye): Had a big impact, particularly at the stoppages, in his first season with the Storm.
