The Your Brain Matters workshop will be presented by Alzheimer’s Australia and will take place tomorrow at the Bendigo Library from 5.30pm to 7pm.
The Goldfields Library Corporation’s programs and events coordinator Tammy Higgs hoped people would take advantage of workshops scheduled throughout the region during spring.
In October the GLC plans to hold Worries About Your Memory workshops, followed in November by events to help people understand the difference between normal ageing, mild cognitive impairment and dementia.
They also plan to hold a number of activities during mental health week, which starts on Sunday 9 October.
“Dementia is a pervasive and increasing illness in our community which will touch many and have a ripple effect on sufferer’s family and friends,” Ms Higgs said.
