RECENTLY-retired Carlton player Andrew Walker will be part of the festivities at AFL Central Victoria’s Footy Festival later this month.
The free Footy Festival will be held at the QEO on Friday, September 30 – the AFL grand final eve public holiday.
Walker is a former Bendigo Pioneer from Echuca who was selected by the Blues with pick No.2 at the 2003 AFL National Draft.
The 30-year-old played 202 games for the Blues before retiring earlier this year.
Walker will participate in a sports panel and mingle with fans during the Footy Festival, which will be held from 11am to 5pm.
Walker’s brother, Benny Walker, an Echuca-based musician will also perform during the festival.
The region’s premiership teams will be honoured as part of the festival.
More announcements for the festival are expected.
