Now in its 10th year, the Bendigo Fashion Festival will showcase work from Bendigo’s Kanngan Institute and the RMIT School of Fashion at the runway show on October 7.
City of Greater Bendigo acting major events manager Dawn Holland said this year’s festival’s runway show would take a new direction as it fused ready to wear fashion from local retailers with the work created by fashion design students and regional artisans.
“This year we are focusing on developing a professional pathway for fashion students and local practitioners from the classroom to the fashion runway,” Ms Holland said.
“The city is keen to establish Bendigo as a major regional destination for fashion and retail. We want to complement Bendigo’s already established reputation as a major centre for the arts, culture and events.
Ms Holland said six designers and three students of the 23 featured designers are from Bendigo.
