Weather permitting, members of the Bendigo District Astronomical Society will install a solar telescope in the rear courtyard of the La Trobe University Visual Arts Centre this Sunday, September 25.
Those visiting the VAC will have an opportunity to view the sun, from noon to 2pm, on the final day of the Sky Lab: Kepler’s Dream exhibition.
Visitors to the current exhibition have been intrigued and excited by the work of nine highly accomplished artists and their response to a scholarly text by 17th century German mathematician and astronomer Johannes Kepler titled Somnium, (The Dream). One contribution to the comments book says, “thanks for a great show – was worth the trip from Melbourne.”
