Golden Square is through to its 10th BFNL grand final in 16 years after it scored a 19-point win over Eaglehawk in the preliminary final.
The Dogs rallied from a 16-point three quarter-time deficit to kick 5.6 to 0.1 with the wind in the final term.
The 11.13 (79) to 9.6 (60) win sets up a grand final date with minor premier Sandhurst.
The Dogs and Dragons haven’t met in a grand final since 2001, when Square won by 14 points.
Golden Square’s star midfield duo Jack Geary and Simon Rosa were outstanding in the preliminary final win, while key forward Ryan Herring (three goals) produced his best game for two months.
The Hawks looked on track to score a stunning upset, but they ran out of petrol tickets in the final term.
Matt Gretgrix kicked all of his four goals in the first quarter, while youngsters Lachlan Atherton and Gedd Hommelhoff stood up for the Borough on the big stage.
