The Mean Machine put the finishing touch to an undefeated season with a 50-point victory over Mitiamo in Saturday’s grand final at Pyramid Hill.
In front of a small grand final crowd that paid a gate of $26,000, the Mean Machine prevailed 19.12 (126) to 10.16 (76).
The Mean Machine have won every senior premiership since 2010, with Saturday’s triumph the 24th flag in the club’s history.
“I couldn’t be more prouder. It’s a credit to the whole footy club, the committee and supporters who turn up to help out each year to be able to sustain the success for this amount of time,” first-year Bridgewater coach Marc Lindsay said.
Bridgewater captain Zeb Broadbent capped a memorable season with a best-on-ground performance in the grand final to accompany his Harding Medal.
“I just like to play my role… it doesn’t get any sweeter and we’ll celebrate this one,” an emotional Broadbent said.
Bridgewater also won the reserves premiership with a 75-point win over Newbridge, and celebrated netball flags with its B-grade and C-grade teams.
Meanwhile, there was a massive drought broken when Newbridge won its first A-grade netball flag in 48 years.
The Maroons led from start to finish to defeat Mitiamo 39-33 to capture their first A-grade premiership since 1968
