SCIENCE classrooms at Catholic College Bendigo were last week transformed into forensic laboratories as part of a CSIRO workshop, Forensic Frenzy.
Year 8 students used techniques such as soil, fabric and fibre analysis, bloodstain investigation, facial and fingerprint identification, and dental X-rays to solve a crime.
Students were then required to report their findings to the class.
The interactive science program allows students to take a hands-on approach to real-life scenarios.
CSIRO, as well as being Australia’s largest employer of scientists, delivers science programs for students and teachers as CSIRO Education.
