The Roos will be without captain and former Betty Thompson medallist Lauren Cowling, as well as Yasmin Thomas, in 2013.
Star centre Cowling is still in rehabilitation after a knee reconstruction and has chosen to travel overseas next year.
Karly Bingham had a superb season to fill part of the hole left by Cowling’s absence and took home the Betty Thompson Medal as the A-grade league best and fairest.
But she will need more support for the Roos to improve on its straight sets finals exit after it finished third on the ladder.
“I’m really on the hunt for a mid-courter at the moment,” Flat coach Janelle Hobbs said.
“We’re keeping everyone else. Brooke Lawry will step back up into A-grade this year, so we’re looking for some new players to come in and add some depth.
“We’ll bring Monica Wellington from juniors straight into A-grade, she’s a defender so with her Simone (Andrews) and Alicia (McGlashan) our defence will be stronger. We’ve just got to get that mid-court position and we’ll be up there, hopefully.”
Flat has announced Bingham as its B-grade coach next season, taking over from Nina Cass, while Hobbs’ assistant Sue Borserio will take charge of the B-reserve and 17-and-unders.
Hobbs will continue to coach both A-grade and A-reserve.
“We’re extremely fortunate to have these ladies take charge of our coaching for season 2013,” Flat’s netball operations manager Catherine Wicks said.
“The amount of talent, knowledge and integrity these ladies bring would be hard to match by any other club in Victoria.”
The Roos coaches will hold three try-out sessions for players beginning Thursday, November 15 at Beck Legal Oval.
The 17s will be held from 5pm to 6.30pm, followed by seniors from 6.15pm to 8pm.
The next session will be Sunday, November 18 from 3.30pm to 5pm for the 17s and 5pm to 7pm for seniors.
The final session is Thursday, November 22 with times the same as the previous week.
