The Mount Alexander Shire Council has announced it is about to begin construction of a gabion retaining wall to support a section of the Harcourt – Sutton Grange Road at Harcourt.
A council statement said a 30 metre section of road was at risk during heavy rains and the wall would protect infrastructure from further erosion.
The statement said the road would remain open throughout the three month construction period. Motorists would be required to follow traffic signage in place during that time.
The $257,427 project was fully funded by the federal government’s Roads to Recovery program.
