Victorian Alpaca Colourbration Show organiser Jenny Ford said about 80 studs were exhibiting at the show, with a further 30 to 40 visiting.
Ms Ford said the annual show, which was held in Bendigo each year, attracted people from across Australia and even from overseas.
The show provided a good opportunity for stud owners to not only show their animals, she said, but network with others in the industry and sell their animals.
Ms Ford said about $500,000 worth of animals was sold at last year’s event.
Alpaca wool products and farm machinery are also on sale.
The free event is open to the public and will be held at the Bendigo Regional Exhibition Centre until 5pm Saturday and 3pm Sunday.
