Bendigo’s FReeza Push Start Battle of the Bands saw eight local acts take to the stage, showcasing a mix of acoustic, blues, rock and alternative music.
But there could be only one winner, with Trash Lily taking out the top honour.
The four-piece band will now go on to the regional final, the winner of which will compete against other regional winners at the grand final at the Melbourne Moomba Festival next March.
Thomas Hadlow was runner-up and Hollywood Real Thoughts came in third.
“It just gives young performers and young artists a chance to be seen,” City of Greater Bendigo youth participation worker Dan Rees said of the competition.
“It’s that opportunity to unearth new talent and get their name out there a bit.”
The Push is a youth music organisation that organises the Battle of the Bands competition across the state, while FReeZA is an initiative that enables young people to run drug, alcohol and smoke-free music events.
