“Last year we had storms and lightning so we made the call at 9.30, before the day got fired up to cancel because we were concerned about public safety,” he said.
“We refunded everybody’s tickets and did the right thing so we hope everyone takes a bit of pity on us for what happened last year and comes along this year.”
Mr McClure said he was hoping for bumper crowds at this year’s festival, to maximise the money returned to the Kangaroo Flat community.
“We want to get over 1000 so we can get some money donated back to the local sporting community and that’s where all the money goes at the end of the day,” he said. “We’re just hoping we finally get a good day and everything goes well.”
The festival is on at Belvoir Park Estate in Ravenswood on October 29. For tickets and more information visit www.bendigotourism.com/whats-on
