UPDATE 11.35am: Taylah Hocking was allowed to leave through the custody exit of the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court despite being on bail.
She was shielded by an umbrella on the way into the court, where she appeared at a filing hearing on Friday morning.
Hocking has been charged with driving in a manner dangerous, failing to stop after an accident in which a person was killed, and failing to render assistance in relation to the hit-and-run death of Tracey-Lee Kemp in Huntly early on Sunday morning.
Outside of court, Hocking’s father said: “I love my daughter, no comment”.
UPDATE 10.45am: Taylah Hocking, 19, has appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates Court facing multiple charges over the hit-and-run death of Tracey-Lee Kemp, 45.
Hocking remains on bail and will next appear in court on November 23.
She was supported in court by family and friends.
EARLIER: A 19-year-old North Bendigo woman will today face court after a fatal hit-and-run near Bendigo at the weekend.
The woman was taken into custody following the death of a 45-year-old female, found on the side of the Midland Highway at Huntly on Sunday morning.
The 19-year-old is charged with dangerous driving causing death and other traffic-related offences.
She was bailed to appear at the Bendigo Magistrates Court on August 19.
