Both line-ups are on the rebound from defeat as they do battle on courts 13, 14 and 15 at the Bendigo Bank tennis complex in Nolan Street.
The men’s clash of Jamie Brown, Shane Cox, Pete Valentine and Sam Storer against Bigpond’s Jack Baker, Jayde Davis, Andrew Harrison and Andrew Freckleton will be a highlight.
In the women’s draw, Jessica Hartland and Bronwyn Osborne take on Heather Robbins and Lani Hamilton in a tie that will be hard-fought.
Verdict: Bigpond to win 7-5.
After a great win against Bigpond, BLTC Rising Sun will be determined to play well against South Bendigo Metro on courts 18, 19 and 20.
Rising Sun will field a strong men’s line-up featuring Michael Smythe and Fraser McCarthy, who will do battle with veteran Michael Nihill and young gun Zac Lethlean.
In the women’s, Rising Sun’s Rebecca Tweed and Tova Penno should have the edge against the up-and-coming pair of Mikaela Adamson and Ellie Gladman.
The skill and experience of the Rising Sun should comfortably account for the youth and exuberance of the Metro.
Verdict: Rising Sun to win 8-4.
Reigning premiers, BLTC Shish takes on the ladder-leading Spring Gully Butterflies on courts 9, 10 and 11.
Shish will start as favourites with the men’s line-up of Curt and Ward Garwood, Al Baker and Nick Thomas, considered the strongest in the league.
Rivalries will be renewed as the Garwood brothers take on Matt Hartland and Shane Burke.
In the women’s, Shish team-mates Ash Baker and Rashelle Blencowe will clash with the experienced Danielle Bowles and Lynda Gallagher.
Verdict: Shish to win 8-4.
