The Underdog Gym fighter scored a unanimous three rounds win over Geelong's Mat Wilson at the Westend Market Hotel in Sunshine.
His trainer Phil Chapman said Patterson was no more nervous then he had previously been for his amateur bouts and seemed to be quite at home with the transition.
"As soon as he was introduced he was ready to go," Chapman said.
"Dave started strong winning the first round easily with his superior hand skills and powerful leg kicks, also catching his opponents kicks on several occasions."
In the second round, Patterson's kicks forced Wilson into a southpaw stance several times to protect his leg.
While Wilson fought back with a series of knees to Patterson's mid-section, the Bendigo fighter was able to brush the attacks off.
Patterson was again able to brush off a big kick to the midriff in a strong final round, to earn the verdict from all three judges 30-27.
Patterson is expected to return to the ring for his second pro-fight in October.
