Day has taken the visual realisation of childhood experiences on a creative journey and woven them like a rhizome across the paper on which he draws.
The artist will discuss his practice at a floor talk at the La Trobe University Visual Arts Centre, 2pm, on Friday, August 12.
Also closing on Sunday, August 14, is the 2016 Bendigo Writers Festival exhibition; Look: an exhibition of picture book art by Freya Blackwood.
Blackwood’s numerous books have either been shortlisted, received honour book awards, or won categories in the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Awards.
In 2015 Blackwood won in three categories, the first time that one illustrator has won in three categories in the same year.
