Bride: Kayla Yates
Groom: Adam Burrows
Wedding date: Saturday, March 19, 2016
The meeting: We met each other while working at KFC together as teenagers. We have now been together for 11 years.
The proposal: Adam proposed on the 23rd of June last year. I had returned home from staying at my cousins. Adam was acting very nervous. He proposed by giving me a jumper he had purchased that I had loved for ages. He then showed me the ring in the ring box and asked if I would marry him.
The wedding day: Our wedding ceremony was in the private gardens at Bishopscourt Bed and Breakfast in Forest Street. Our celebrant was the beautiful Michael Anderson. I had my cousin Demi as my bridesmaid and Adam had his brother-in-law Peter as his groomsman. The arch that we stood under was made by my dad.
Selina from Vogue nature did our floral arrangements and gorgeous bouquets consisting of baby’s breaths, pink roses, daisies and billy buttons. Selina also made my headpiece.
We had a cocktail style reception at Mr Beebes. The beautiful staff were amazing especially Ben and Bianca. They made sure the night went smoothly and the food was amazing.
We styled our ceremony and reception ourselves. Everything was handmade by the both of us, from the fairy light mason jars to the ‘Yay’ flags and ribbon wands at the ceremony
We made sure the atmosphere of the planning process up to the day was relaxed.
Our photographer Jamie Harrison was just amazing He made us feel so comfortable and at ease. He was so much fun to be around and we are so happy with our photos. Our videographers from VU Productions were also so relaxed and fun to be around and perfectly captured our special day.
My mum made a beautiful naked cake with pink roses and babies breath arranged on the cake
The dress: The dress was a custom made by Larissa from Frocked.
The cake: Cake was made by Kayla's mum.
The photographer: Jamie Harrison Photography.
The honeymoon: We went on a Carnival Cruise to the South Pacific islands.
