The Demons dominated the top of the table clash, running out winners 59-41.
It was the Demons' second win over the reigning premiers this season.
They defeated the Grasshoppers 47-44 in May.
The win means White Hills needs only to win its final minor round encounter against seventh-placed Lockington-Bamawm United to earn a rest on the first weekend of finals.
The loss was the Grasshoppers' third for the season, with Leitchville-Gunbower the only team to have defeated the reigning premiers.
Meanwhile North Bendigo moved a step closer to sewing up the double chance, with a big win over Mount Pleasant.
The third-placed Bulldogs defeated the Blues 69-18.
A win next week against fifth-placed Huntly would seal the double chance for the Bulldogs.
Should the Bulldogs' slip, Leitchville-Gunbower will be ready to pounce.
The Bombers sit one win behind the Bulldogs after a powerful 70-30 win against Heathcote.
They meet bottom side Elmore next week, but need a Huntly upset over North Bendigo to have any chance of grabbing third spot.
The Hawks collected their eight win of the season, defeating a determined Elmore 48-24.
Huntly led 26-9 at half time, before being matched by the Bloods during an even third quarter, with the Hawks increasing their lead by a single goal.
Kristine Rosaia scored nine goals for the Bloods during the third term.
