The Bendigo Police Crime Investigation Unit is investigating two armed robberies which both occurred yesterday.
Detective Senior Constable Jason Smith said an armed man attempted to rob the Harcourt Post Office at about 3.35pm yesterday.
“He’s entered the store and demanded cash from the attendant,” DSC Smith said.
“He was in possession of a weapon.
“He has been unsuccessful and left store in a dark-coloured vehicle.”
Earlier in the day a man held up a service station in Elmore at knife point and got away with a small amount of cash.
Two staff members had just opened the Elmore BP when the man entered at about 5.20am, produced a knife and demanded money.
Police said he then left the scene in an older-model maroon Mitsubishi Magna.
“At this moment in time both incidents are being investigated by Benidgo CIU but we are unable to determine whether they are linked at present,” DSC Smith said.
Anyone with information about either incident can contact CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000 or Bendigo Police on 5448 1300.
