The East Loddon P12 College year 10 student was recently bestowed the $1000 Masonic Research Scholarship by the Chisel Lodge of Research.
The Raywood teenager grabbed the judges’ attention with a stunning 2500-word essay, complete with pictures, compiled upon her return from Gallipoli.
Miss Cartwright’s essay was particularly poignant given her family is hosting an exchange student from Canakkale in Turkey.
She concluded her presentation with “Once enemies, now friends forever”.
Proud parents James and Lynda Cartwright were in attendance.
