This weekend is different. For fifth-placed Kangaroo Flat, Saturday’s home game against the winless Maryborough is huge.
The Roos need to not only win, but win well and regain some lost confidence ahead of a three week stretch of games against the BFNL’s big three.
The Roos have lost their mojo recently. They’ve averaged just 10 goals per game in their past five games – well down on the 16 goals per game the club averaged in the first eight games of the season.
With Eaglehawk storming home, the Roos are in danger of missing the five. They’re one game ahead of the Hawks, but their percentage is 13 per cent inferior. That makes a 15-goal plus win against the Pies imperative.
Maryborough continues to battle hard against the odds. The Pies produced one of their better performances of the season last week against the Storm.
