Pyramid Hill has been meant to host the grand final in recent seasons, but because of the Bulldogs regularly pushing deep into the finals and the league wanting a neutral venue for the senior football, it has been transferred.
Before bowing out in the first semi-final last year in a straight sets exit, the Bulldogs made at least the preliminary final each year between 2008 and 2014.
However, this year the Bulldogs have been one of the sliders of the competition, and with three rounds remaining sit in sixth position.
“Pyramid Hill is due the grand final, and if they’re not in it then that’s where it’s going to be,” LVFNL chairperson Colleen Rogers said on Wednesday.
No other finals venues have yet been announced, with the LVFNL board hoping to be in a position next week to make some decisions.
The key point of interest in the run to the finals for the LVFNL centres around the fight for fourth and fifth spot between Marong (7-6, 101%), Newbridge (6-8, 93%) and Pyramid Hill (6-7, 91%).
The undefeated Bridgewater – which is gunning for an LVFNL record seventh flag in a row – is guaranteed to finish on top of the ladder and earn a direct route into the second semi-final.
Pyramid Hill is due the grand final, and if they’re not in it then that’s where it’s going to be.
