The Cobaw Community Health event is part of Homelessness Week, a national initiative to raise awareness about the experiences of people without a permanent place to call home.
Attendees will be able to enjoy food and listen to local musicians while gathering information about services available to those without shelter.
The event takes place just one week before the August 9 census and Cobaw chief executive officer Margaret McDonald said it was important those experiencing homelessness were represented in the five-yearly collection of data.
“Homelessness is not a choice,” she said, explaining most people left looking for a place to sleep were victims of family violence or had fallen on financial hardship.
“The largest proportion of Australia's homeless population is out of sight and out of mind, moving from one place to the next.”
