The play is a black comedy that stars actor Bryce Youngman.
Youngman plays Oscar, a man who grew up in regional Bowengabbie before heading for the city at the first opportunity.
He returns home for his aunt’s funeral but stays for longer than he planned as elderly townsfolk continue to pass away and Bowengabbie locals compete to throw Bowengabbie’s biggest ever send off.
Death in Bowengabbie has charmed audiences and critics alike during its seasons at The Blue Room in Perth and La Mama in Carlton.
It is on at the Phee Broadway Theatre in Castlemaine on August 6 from 7pm.
Tickets are $30 for adults and available from the Castlemaine Visitor Centre in Mostyn Street, online at www.pheebroadwaytheatre.com.au or at the door 30 minutes prior to the performance.
