Bendigo City FC suffered a 4-1 defeat to North Geelong in an entertaining NPL Victoria clash on Saturday.

Bendigo defended stoutly to keep the Warriors scoreless in the first 45 minutes on their home turf.
The 10th-placed Bendigo shocked the highly-rated Warriors in the 49th minute when a great cross from Lachlan Beever was put in the back of the net by Sergio Castel-Martinez.
Bendigo’s hopes of scoring an upset win were dashed quickly.
Between the 51st minute and the 66th minute the Warriors scored three goals, with the second goal coming from the penalty spot.
North Geelong added a fourth goal in the 83rd minute to seal the three points.
Defensive errors in the second half proved costly for Bendigo.
The wet weather over the weekend made the surface at Elcho Park in Geelong very sloppy.
The under-20 game on Saturday and all of Sunday’s junior games were postponed.
There are six rounds remaining in the NPL Victoria season.
The Bendigo City senior squad is in last place in the west conference, while the under-20s are in ninth place.
They are back on hole soil this Saturday against the Moreland Zebras.
The under-20s play at 3.15pm and the senior game is at 5.15pm.
The juniors will return to action on Saturday against the Moreland Zebras at Epsom-Huntly Recreation Reserve.
The highlight of Saturday’s junior games will be the under-16 clash at 2.45pm and the under-15 match at 2.15pm.
