The win broke a string of 10 successive defeats for the Miners.
Maroondah opened the scoring with a try in the seventh minute. Bendigo hit back with a maiden try to winger Iliesa Sevudredre. Dave McDonald’s conversion of this try from wide out put the Miners in front 7-5.
A momentum shift occurred midway through the second half as Bendigo scored three tries in the space of seven minutes to seal the points. Ieu Misionaire Poto scored the first two from hit-ups close to the try line. Hooker Blake Theeunissen scored the third.
Among the better players for the Miners were loose forwards Matt Boyle and Josephar Maiai, prop Jesse Tuitupou, centres Fagavao and Keech and five-eighth Josh Manderson.
