Stud principals Malcolm Fletcher and (daughter) Trudy Boyer gathered a small flock of weaner and grown rams and ewes to show at Bendigo. The supreme champion was faultless, according to judge Malcolm McKelvie.
“I couldn’t find a fault with her. Her head, body and loin were correct in every department and she had magnificent, soft handling, high crimping fleece,” Mr McKelvie said.
Mr Fletcher said he encountered Perendales at Langi Kal Kal Prison where he was stock manager and slowly changed his merino flock across to the breed.
He continued to import sires from New Zealand.
