Now in it’s fourth series, the Paul Guest Prize has been held every two years since 2010.
It was initiated by Paul Guest, a former Family Court Judge and Olympic rower, to encourage artists from across Australia to engage with the important medium of drawing and to create challenging and unique art works.
“My abiding and passionate interest in art commenced several decades ago and from those early beginnings I was introduced to contemporary art in a holistic way which ran parallel to my professional career,” Mr Guest said.
Paul Guest’s private collection will go on display at the Bendigo Art Gallery from August 13 to October 16.
The Paul Guest Prize exhibition will be on display from August 27. A full list of finalists can be found at www.bendigoartgallery.com.au/Prizes_Scholarships/Paul_Guest_Prize
