Eastman has in-form three-year-old Iceenothink, stable star Menin Gate and consistent mare Morton Plains in Group One finals of the Vicbred Super Series.
Iceenothink is one of the leading chances in the 3YO Colts and Geldings Final.
Eastman won the race last year with Menin Gate. Iceenothink, a son of Art Major, has won its past five starts, including a tough victory in last week’s semi-final.
Menin Gate looks back to his best form and has drawn well in gate three for the 4YO Final. Menin Gate was the best three-year-old in the country after winning the Super Series, Victoria Derby, Queensland Derby and Breeders Crown last year.
He was poor in a trip to WA, but this campaign has showed he is back to form with two encouraging placings. From the draw he has the gate speed to lead and will be very hard to run down.
Morton Plains won the three-year-old fillies final last year and looks well placed to run a big race in the four-year-old mares final.
The mare was held up for a run in the semi-final last week, but hit the line strongly. With luck in running on Saturday night she will be hard to hold out.
Junortoun’s Trevor Monk and Bruce Morgan each have runners in the 2YO fillies final, Myola’s Graham McDermott has Lucky Lombo in the 4YO final, Boadiceas Fury is in the 4YO mares final for Marong’s Danny Curran and Maiden Gully’s Paul Campbell has Miss Dreamin in the same race.
