The Braves led by as many as 16 points in the third quarter before the home side made a stirring comeback to get within six points in the final quarter.
The Braves unleashed a 13-2 run to steady the ship and they eventually won 90-77. Jeremy Kendle led the Braves with 34 points.
The Bendigo Lady Braves went down to Geelong 78-74.
The Lady Braves had chances in the final 30 seconds to tie the scores, but couldn’t convert and Geelong iced the game from the free throw line in the dying seconds.
Kelly Wilson was superb for Bendigo with 26 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Chante Black added 17 points and 13 boards. The Braves and Lady Braves back-up against Nunawading in Bendigo on Saturday night.
