The Bright Futures forum will look at such topics as social innovation, co-design with young people and building social connection, using a recent research report as the foundation for discussion.
The Bright Futures report, undertaken by the CSIRO for VicHealth, identified five key “megatrends” that will impact the mental health of the state’s youth over the next 20 years, and contributed to VicHealth’s long-term mental wellbeing strategy.
VicHealth will also announce a grants program that will provide funding of up to $50,000 for projects that promote resilience, social connection and mental wellbeing in young people and in the wider community.
“This community forum will provide a unique opportunity to look to the future and manage the risks that we know are a big part of being a young Australian,” VicHealth chief executive officer Jerril Rechter said.
