The car was travelling south at 11.05am when it veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided with the caravan, which was heading north.
The driver and passenger of the car were taken to Bendigo Health for observation, while the three occupants of the car towing the caravan avoided injury.
Senior Constable Brian Smith said the cars did not lose control after the collision, but the caravan sustained significant damage.
“Debris from the side of the caravan was all over the road, which slowed traffic for a while,” he said.
“Lack of concentration from the driver of the car was the cause of the collision.”
The driver, from Swan Hill, was issued a penalty notice.
The people towing the caravan were travelling from Lorne to Mildura for a family holiday.
