Bendigo Competitions Society music co-ordinator David Hague said about 80 people watched the competition.
“We had some very high quality performers and a special appearance from the Bendigo Youth Choir who performed at the interval,” he said.
Melbourne flautist Will Rigby won the Leila Watson Memorial Championship with classical vocalist Megan Kane Griffin second and violinist Venus Yu third.
Bendigo classical singer Jessica Chalmers was given the Penny Goonan Encouragement Award.
The Bendigo Competitions Society will now help host the dance competitions at Bendigo South East College over the next two weeks.
“The dance started this morning and finishes with a special dance stage spectacular performance at The Capital on July 3,” Mr Hague said.
