Police were called to the High Street house just after 7am where they found the victim, a 29-year-old Eaglehawk man and the alleged offender, a 39-year-old Eaglehawk woman.
The woman was arrested and charged with recklessly and negligently cause serious injury and conduct endangering life.
This afternoon she was bailed to the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on July 4.
The victim remains in hospital.
EARLIER: A MAN is in hospital in a critical but stable condition after he was shot with an arrow in Eaglehawk this morning.
Police were called to a residence on High Street, Eaglehawk at 7.10am with reports a man had an arrow in his chest.
A 29-year-old man has been to taken to Bendigo Health, Detective Senior Constable Andy Heazlewood said. He said the injuries were “non-life threatening” and the arrow was in the man’s chest.
Police would not disclose whether a crossbow was involved in the shooting. The incident occurred inside a residence.
A 39-year-old woman has been arrested and is being interviewed by police.
A crime scene was set up in an alleyway next to a pharmacy on the south side of High Street, near the intersection with Victoria Street.
A Bendigo Health spokeswoman said the patient was in a critical but stable condition.
