Now premiering at the La Trobe University VAC is the next instalment in his Urban Boundary Propositions series.
South East Park Proposition documents Keating in the thrust of performative painting.
By spraying the enormous concrete wall in the colours and gesture of its surrounds, Keating masterfully erases this vast imposition on the landscape.
But its disappearance will only be brief; as the seasons change the building will re-emerge, doused in the memory of the moment it was painted.
South East Park Proposition can be seen, alongside Ash Keating’s recent studio-based Response Paintings, at the La Trobe University VAC until July 17.
