The workshop helped Bendigo seniors master the basics of using internet technology. It is the second time the workshop had been held in Bendigo.
Telstra Country Wide general manager of central Victoria and Sunraysia, Ray Pratt, said the workshops had proved popular with Bendigo’s older population.
He said Telstra had designed the workshop to suit any resident in need of some tech-savvy tips.
Students from Catholic College Bendigo were also on hand to help participants.
“Catholic College Bendigo’s involvement has really helped Telstra give back to those in our community who are interested in learning how technology can enhance their lives,” Mr Pratt said.
He said the aim of the workshop was to help those who find themselves at risk of being left behind as technology continues to grow.
Gadget guru Peter Blasina said the internet workshops were aimed at teaching skills and techniques to participants, irrespective of their knowledge or experience.
He said the students provided the participants with more one-on-one support.
“Kids are surrounded by technology these days but also need their own boundaries online,” Mr Blasina said.
“By the end of the workshop participants and the teens will take home new skills that really enhance their lives.”
