Organisers of Bendigo’s first community giving day, Big Give, are offering a free masterclass on ways to succeed in crowdfunding.
The webinar will be at noon on Friday, and is being offered by the Community Foundation for Central Victoria and Chuffed.org.
If you’ve been to the Big Give website, you’ll recognise Chuffed.org.
That’s the crowdfunding platform on which the 24-hour online community giving day on September 1 will take place.
During the webinar on Friday, Chuffed.org chief executive officer Prashan Paramanathan will offer advice to representatives of central Victorian not-for-profit community groups, organisations and sporting clubs interested in taking part in Big Give.
“The online masterclass will offer insights on how the winning campaigns have successfully raised hundreds of thousands of dollars,” Mr Paramanathan said.
“It’s about standing out as great organisations are doing extraordinary things in communities all across Australia.”
Community Foundation for Central Victoria executive officer Ann Lansberry encouraged people to register for the online event.
“We’re thrilled Prashan is volunteering his time to give the people of central Victoria his experience on how to create a campaign which will deliver the maximum result for their non-for-profit organisation,” she said.
Information sessions have also been organised in Castlemaine and Echuca this month.
People will be able to donate to causes registered on the Big Give website for 24 hours on September 1.
The more support an initiative garners, the more likely they are to receive bonuses from a $30,000 prize pool.
