Eaglehawk played well to stick with Square for much of the first three quarters, but Richards and Ryan proved too much to handle.
Goal shooter Richards scored 45 goals from 57 attempts and goal attack Ryan added 22 goals from 27 attempts as Square won its fourth game of the season.
The Hawks were still in the game at half-time when they trailed by five goals, but Richards and Ryan broke the game open when they combined to score a perfect 19 goals from 19 attempts in the third quarter.
Despite tasting defeat, Eaglehawk could take plenty out of the game, particularly in the scoring third.
The Hawks’ final total of 51 goals is the first time they’ve scored more than 40 goals since their round one win over South Bendigo.
Goal shooter Dayna McGough scored 34 goals from 49 attempts, while goal attack Imogen Davies added 17 goals from 27 attempts.
Eaglehawk’s next opponent is top team Sandhurst. The Dragons maintained their unbeaten start to the season by defeating Kyneton 57-28 at the Kyneton Showgrounds.
A 15-7 first quarter from the Dragons was the catalyst for the big win.
Sandhurst’s defence was superb all game, with Kyneton struggling to find space for Hayley Page and Michelle Fletcher.
At the other end of the court, Sandhurst shooters Kelsey Sartori and Annie Cobbledick enjoyed plenty of opportunities.
Sartori, who played the first three quarters at goal shooter before switching to goal attack for the final term, gave the Kyneton defence plenty of headaches.
She finished the game with 35 goals from 39 attempts, while Cobbledick chipped in with 22 goals from 30 attempts.
Fletcher scored 18 goals for the Tigers and Page added 10.
Maryborough consolidated fourth place on the A-grade ladder with a 51-32 win over South Bendigo.
The Magpies won every quarter, with goal shooter Jordan MacIlwain particularly impressive. MacIlwain nailed 34 goals from 41 attempts.
Gisborne reminded the rest of the competition that it’s far from a spent force when it thumped Strathfieldsaye 56-31.
After a tight first quarter the Bulldogs outscored the Storm 44-22 in the final three terms.
In the final game of the round, Kangaroo Flat outclassed Castlemaine 56-17 on Sunday at Camp Reserve.
