The Geelong Advertiser's Danny Lannen has won the award for the past two years.
The Life Award recognises the Bendigo Advertiser's role in the establishment of the Suicide Prevention Awareness Network central Victoria group which organised the city's first Suicide Awareness Walk on March 24 this year.
The walk was attended by more than 500 people.
Representatives from welfare agencies, Victoria Police, City of Greater Bendigo and the community form the SPAN group.
The second annual Suicide Awareness Walk will be held in Bendigo on Sunday, March 24, next year.
