Another multi-million dollar home has hit the Bendigo market, this time in the city's hospital precinct.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom Moore Street house, with views looking over the Bendigo skyline, was first listed three weeks ago with an asking price between $1.95 million and $2.1 million.
The luxury property also includes a lap pool, tennis court and butler’s pantry on a 1100-square metre block of land.
Tweed Sutherland First National agent Darryn O’Keefe said the home was the latest in a series of top-end Bendigo homes with price tags towards the $2 million mark.
“Sales in this vicinity are becoming more sought after and the location, being so close to the hospital, is generating interest from surgeons and specialists,” he said.
“It's been surprising the number of high-value properties that have been purchased by local business people.”
PRD Nationwide real estate agent Tom Isaacs said the frequency of multi-million dollar sales was increasing as tightly-held family homes began to change hands.
“We are seeing a lot of family residences owned by by one family for 20, 30, 50 years up for sale,” he said.
Mr Isaacs also said a growing number of professional services in Bendigo were drawing buyers to town.
“We’re in a very buoyant market and that creates confidence,” he said.
The Moore Street listing follows news Margot and Alan Spalding are seeking $2.95 million for their View Street shop and apartment.
If the asking price is attained, the Jimmy Possum founders’ home would become the most expensive residential sale in Bendigo history.
