The Victorian tumbling team is made up of 19 competitors – 15 of whom are from Palmer’s Gym Bendigo.
Among the 15 is Latisha Parker, who has been named one of the Victorian captains.
The 15 gymnasts from Palmer’s Gym, who were all picked after a rigorous selection process, that will compete at the national championships are:
Under-11s – Lucy Tibbs, Amber Cole.
Under-13s – Arkie Starr MacRae, Aislinn Lavin, Jamison McFadden.
Under-15s – Matisse Cugura, Lucy Harrison, Tahlia Sims, Jetta Conboy, Amelia Boyle, Emily Kent.
Under-17s – Chloe Swatton, Taije Pringle.
17-plus – Latisha Painter.
Junior Men – Reuben Roessler.
The 15 gymnasts are trained by Emma Carmody.
“We’re very proud of all 15. They have all worked hard for the opportunity and we’re confident they will all perform well in their age groups,” Carmody said.
For eight of the gymnasts, it will be their first time competing at the national championships.
The Australian Gymnastics Championships will be held at Melbourne’s Hisense Arena from Monday until June 4.
The championships will feature 1400 athletes competing over 6000 routines, with it the final Olympic selection event for those in the elite class.
