SCORES were all tied up on 63-all when the buzzer sounded to end Monday night’s A-grade men’s clash between Generals and McIvor Magic in the opening round of the Bendigo Basketball Association’s summer season.

McIvor Magic recruited well for its first season in the BBA and played well against the young Generals line-up at Bendigo Stadium in Marong Road.
The Generals fought back in the second half and levelled scored in the last 30 seconds.
Both teams had chances to clinch victory, but the match ended 63-63.
Jordan Mangan hit a game-high 21 points for Generals, while Magic star Matt Bartlett hit 17.
Scores – Generals 12, 30, 46, 63 dr McIvor Magic 17, 38, 53, 63.
The clash between Beavers White and Los Burritos was decided in the final minute.
After scoring just five points in the first quarter, Beavers fought back to be 37-all at three quarter-time.
Led by the play of Joe Turner, 21 points, and Trent Bice, 16, Los Burritos won a great battle, 56-54.
Andrew Barnett led the Beavers attack on 15 points.
Scores – Beaves White 5, 19, 37, 54 lt Los Burritos 14, 26, 37, 56.
Aztec scored a 39-point win against Spandex.
Chris Adkins, 28 points, and Luke Lougoon, 17, were in fine form.
Scores – Azted 15, 31, 51, 76 d Spandex 19, 24, 28, 37.

In the A-grade women’s competition, the Bendigo under-16 girls A squad took on The Mixtures.
The Kevin Probert-coached A squad played well to lead 16-14 at half-time.
Led by the play of Maddison Higgins, 11 points, and Camille Johnstone, 7 points, The Mixtures won 37-30.
Meg Williams scored a team-high 11 points for the 16A squad.
The under-18 girls A squad, coach by Megan Moody, passed the 50-point mark in their opening round clash with the under-16B girls squad.
The Sue Smith-coached 16B squad tried hard, but the under-18s were too slick.
Scores – 16B squad 5, 11, 17, 17 lt 18 girls squad 12, 22, 38, 58.
Molly Greetham and Rebecca Dekazos scored 14 and 12 points respectively for the winners.
Mangan and Sexton were leading scorers for the 16B line-up.
