The City of Greater Bendigo will have “Cycle Angels” placed at 10 sites across the city to help riders and a community breakfast is planned at Hargreaves Mall between 7.30 and 9am.
Council chief executive officer Craig Niemann said between 100 and 200 people were expected to take part in Ride2Work Day.
“We’d like to grow that over time,” he said.
“We’re trying to provide more bike infrastructure in lanes on the road and cycle and walking paths off roads for people to get to and from work.
“Bendigo is such that you can live in the suburbs but not be far from the CBD and there are some really good health benefits for the community.”
