BENDIGO Pioneers’ coach Brett Henderson says his leaders must stand up and set an example if there are any warning signs of a repeat of last week’s third-quarter debacle during Saturday’s TAC Cup match against the Eastern Ranges.

The Pioneers are coming off a 70-point hiding from the North Ballarat Rebels in what was a game where they had 10 goals kicked against them during the third term after scores had been level at half-time.
Asked how he wants his team to react if any alarm bells start ringing, Henderson said: “I’d like to see my leaders really stand up, a lot more direction out on the field and play some tempo footy until we can get the momentum of the game back on an even keel.
“Last week we let it all just slip away without anyone standing up, so I’d be really disappointed if that was to happen again and that has certainly been the message during the week.”
The Pioneers (1-4) will take on the Ranges (3-2) at Kyabram from 1pm.
