The Fighting Miners will host Maroondah Griffiths from 3.10pm at Epsom-Huntly Recreation Reserve on Saturday.
The two clubs haven’t met since the Division 2B grand final in 2014 when Maroondah edged out Bendigo with an injury-time try.
While their last meeting was in a grand final, this time the two clubs find themselves in the bottom two rungs on the ladder, each with just one victory.
The Fighting Miners will be relishing the return to their home ground after two-consecutive heavy defeats on the road against Kiwi Hawthorn (72-21) and Eltham (59-19).
VRU Division 2A ladder – Kiwi Hawthorn (4-0), Eltham (2-1-1), Geelong (2-2), Shepparton (1-2-1), Maroondah (1-3), Bendigo (1-3).
Saturday’s other games – Eltham v Kiwi Hawthorn, Geelong v Shepparton.
